Well Met, I'm Mia!

Mia Hsiung Headshot

From the age of 1, I had a knack for repeating lines from movies (particularly Finding Nemo), I sang loudly in cars at 2, and at 5, I discovered my propensity towards performing through dance...but it wasn't until my mom enrolled me in a theatre camp where I played a turtle in The Little Mermaid that I discovered I loved to play pretend.

I was a competitive dancer for 10 years, a grade obsessed nerd throughout all of highschool, and an actor from Day One.

I knew exactly what i wanted to do at a very young age.

This Girl read way too many books and talked to herself a lot.

True Fact: I used to get in trouble for sneaking my books into bed and reading past curfew till late in the night. Fantasies, romances, the classics, you name it and I loved to read it. I would often repeat the lines of storybook characters in the quiet of my bedroom, so it’s not a shocker that my love of literature gave me a vivid imagination for acting.

Fast Forward...

Now, you can often find me quoting Shakespearean verses, reenacting Chekhovian stories, and reciting Emily Dickinson’s poetry. My love of learning led me to pursue my BFA in Acting and a minor in English at The University of Texas at Austin where I am currently a senior.

I am a Chinese-Vietnamese American born and raised in Texas. I grew up with rice for dinner every night, lots of BBQ, Mandarin lessons every Thursday, and saying y'all in nearly every sentence.

Sisters by Chance, Friends by Choice

My little sister, Chloe, and I are the ultimate Gemini + Aquarius duo. She’s the STEM kid and I’m the LIT kid, so we always say that I was destined to be the actress and she was destined to be the doctor. She makes me a better actress because she reminds me that life is supposed to be fun...and a rollercoaster.
